Hello everyone!

Welcome to Anak Whistles & Flutes Co. We are dedicated to making and experimenting with traditional as well as modern (adjusted to seven-note scales) Irish tin whistles and Irish flutes.

Anak Whistles & Flutes Co. was created with a vision of bringing Irish tin whistles and flutes in Korea. By doing so, we wish to share the joy of Irish music as we believe that music enriches and enlivens all of us.

In regards to the materials of the flute, we first chose bamboo in 2008, and our experimentation has been ongoing since then. Aside from bamboo, there are other various kinds that are potential to be the material. For wooden flutes, bamboo, ebony, and rosewood can be used. For metal flutes, aluminum, brass, and duralumin can be used. We are also open to experimenting with plastic and other materials that can be used for wind instruments in general.

We are also working on reinventing other types of traditional flutes in order to make flutes more accessible to people who are not familiar with them.

Me, Jangik, and my wife, Youngmi, have been cultivating a dream of making instruments and playing music with others. As living in Seoul, one of the busiest and most crowded place in Korea, if not the world, is not bringing us any closer to our dream, we have decided to move to a quite countryside.

As we are preparing busily for our next chapter in life, we are currently not selling any flutes. We plan to begin selling our flutes starting from the second part of 2015. We will write to you once our business launches. Thank you!
